Electronic Metrology Laboratory, LLC has provided the telecommunications industry with calibration services for over 20 years.
“When we started out, the cellular industry was just beginning to grab a foothold,” said Scott Barlow, CEO at EML. “In the late 1990s, our focus was on the paging and two-way industries. Over the years, we’ve diversified, and we’re proud to support many cellular and wireless companies with calibration.”
EML specializes in:
According to Jason Powell, VP of Sales at Marketing, EML has always had a great rapport within the communications industry and much of that has come from continuously evolving right along with it. At EML, much effort has been put into testing, implementing quality systems, and providing on-site capabilities over the years, servicing independent tower operators and major carriers nationwide.
“To keep up with technology and to evolve as the industry we serve moves forward, we’ve continuously invested in new equipment, systems, and processes. Our goal is to be more efficient and save our customers time and money,” added Powell.
EML tailors its operations based on customer feedback to make the experience seamless. “We provide on-site calibration to clients to bring fast and convenient calibration services nationwide. This is an efficient method for our clients to get equipment calibrated quickly and minimize downtime. If there are any issues, we can fix devices right on-site in our mobile laboratory,” said Jeff Goble, EML Calibration Lab Manager.
EML also provides access to an online asset management platform. The system stores client assets, calibration date, and expiration dates, plus sends out notifications of upcoming calibration requirements. “The web tool is especially useful for field service managers or owners to review all assets and make sure equipment is calibrated. We provides access to this information 24/7,” noted Goble.

He has held many managerial roles in retail and manufacturing with notable companies including Amazon, Walmart, VF Corp, HCA, Mercy Health and the VA. Lab Manager
With a decade of dedicated service in the United States Air Force, I honed my skills as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) specialist. My experience in the military provided me with a strong foundation in electronic systems and precision measurement, equipping me with the technical expertise required to excel in this field. Throughout my service, I developed a keen understanding of complex equipment and the importance of accuracy in measurements, which are crucial for maintaining operational readiness in various military applications. My commitment to excellence was recognized during my time in the Air Force, where I learned the value of teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
After transitioning to civilian life, I began my career with EML in 2001, where I further applied my knowledge and skills in electronic systems technology. I hold an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electronic Systems Technology, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Western Kentucky University (WKU). My educational background, coupled with my extensive hands-on experience, has allowed me to contribute significantly to my field. I am passionate about leveraging my technical expertise to drive innovation and efficiency in electronic systems, and I continue to seek opportunities for professional growth and development in this dynamic industry.
Quality Control Manager
I developed a passion for science and mathematics early in life, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. Shortly after graduating, I began my career at EML as an Electronics Calibration Technician. Over the next 11 years, I traveled across the country, calibrating a wide range of equipment for customers in industries such as public safety, power generation, and cellular communications.
This hands-on experience not only deepened my technical expertise but also instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to quality. In 2022, I transitioned into my current role as Quality Assurance Manager, where I combine my science and mathematics background with more than a decade of practical calibration experience.
In this role, I oversee the calculation of measurement uncertainties and ensure that all aspects of the calibration laboratory comply with the ISO/IEC 17025 quality standard. It’s a position that allows me to showcase my skills, contribute to EML’s commitment to excellence, and continue expanding my knowledge.
“At EML we believe that quality is not an act, it is a habit.”
